Who is Bezalel Media-Dylan Alarcon
Bezalel Media was founded by Dylan Alarcon, a Florida native born and raised in Miami-Dade county. He moved to central Florida in 2017 where he received his Associates in Arts degree at College of Central Florida in 2018, and a Dual Bachelors in Mass Media and Communications and Digital Design from Southeastern University in 2023. Dylan has passionately pursued photography, photo and video editing and design for 15 years. He is also a born-again Christian who sees God in everything he does. Dylan is also the author of Saints and Athletes, a blog dedicated to following Christian athletes, and a freelancer for Seriously Fast Media. In addition to visual arts and writing, he enjoys creating music, gaming, and watching his favorite drivers race in NASCAR on Sundays.
The story behind the name
Hello, my name is Dylan Alarcon. I was born and raised in Hialeah, Florida, a city of rich Cuban culture. I am the son of two very talented and loving Cuban parents. My father is a songwriter, poet, and the funniest man I've ever met. My mother is an extraordinary singer, designer, and interior decorator.
I grew up in a Christian household and received great influence from my step father, a pastor and singer who passionately loves his family as much as he loves Jesus. From him I learned how to play the drums, and what it means to use your talents for God's glory.
Before the age of ten I already had a great interest in writing, just as my older brother, father, and his father, Cuban author Jorge A. Alarcon before him. I also developed a great interest in photography, videography, photo and video editing, and visual arts in general.
Today I live in Ocala, Florida, where I have met some absolutely amazing people over the past five years.
From the book of Exodus is where the name Bezalel comes from. He was a man gifted by God the skills necessary to design and craft the tent of meeting that held the ark of the covenant. I look at every talent and skill that I take passion in--regardless of my proficiency, as a God-given gift, and so chose to identify with the name Bezalel.
